Frederick F. Mahler Jr.

Frederick F. Mahler Jr., of Garnerville, passed away on December 9, 2018. He was 87. Frederick was born in 1930 to Frederick and Rose (Yerg) Mahler in Mansfield, Ohio. He married Bernardine Angst in 1952. He retired in 1974 from NYPD where he was in the Emergency Services, Truck 2. Frederick was a member of Minnisceongo Yacht Club in Stony Point, as well as a member of the Rockland County Shields. He loved sailing, woodworking, and was an avid sharpshooter. Frederick is survived by his wife Bernardine of Garnerville, Linda (John) Castellano of Stony Point, Patty (Nick) Wolfe Nashawaty of Braintree, MA, Nancy Mlynarczyk of Alva, FL, by his grandchildren: Tara, Erin, John, Lisa, Brian, Melissa and Nicole, 7 great-grandchildren, his sister Rosemary (Thomas) Lebonetti, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved sons-in-law Jerry Wolfe and John Mlynarczyk and his sister Esther Roth. Frederick’s family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 4-8 PM at T.J. MCGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Frederick on Friday, December 14 at 10:30 AM at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville, with entombment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
