Gordon Bray

December 9, 1933 — March 4, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Gordon J. Bray, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Gordon peacefully departed this world on March 4, 2026, at the age of 92, at Joe Raso Hospice in New City, NY.

Gordon was born on December 9, 1933, in New York, to Alton Bray and Laura Quigley.  On June 8th, 1953, Gordon married the love of his life, Alice Tellone. Together, they built a family grounded in love, humor, and unwavering support.

Gordon’s career was marked by dedication and humility. He began his professional journey at Pepsi Cola and later served as a doorman for Union 32J in New York City. Known for his welcoming smile and genuine kindness, Gordon made countless friends and left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. After retiring, he found joy in working part-time as a school monitor, where he nurtured and protected young minds, instilling in them the same values he held dear.

A man of simple pleasures, Gordon loved watching movies, engaging in card games on his iPad, and enjoying the camaraderie of Bingo nights. These hobbies brought him joy and provided cherished moments of connection with family and friends.

Gordon is survived by his devoted children—Gordon, Luann (Steve), David (Adelyn), and Lisa (Lance)—who will forever cherish the wisdom and love he imparted. He was the proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who adored him and will carry forward his legacy of kindness and integrity.

The Bray family extends their heartfelt thanks to all the aides who provided compassionate care to Gordon in his final days. A special note of gratitude goes to his granddaughter, Jean, who was a constant source of support and love.

A service to celebrate Gordon’s life will be held on March 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, located at 25 Cinder Road, Garnerville, NY 10923. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the United Hospice of Rockland, an organization close to their hearts for the care and comfort they provided in Gordon’s final moments.

Though Gordon has left this physical world, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. As we say goodbye, we do so with gratitude for the time we shared and the love that will forever remain.

May he rest in peace.
