Mary Jane Sheridan

May 23, 1941 — February 23, 2026

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Jane Sheridan (née McMahon), who entered eternal rest on February 23, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on May 23, 1941, in Staten Island, New York, Mary Jane was the cherished daughter of Margaret (née Hickey) and Joseph McMahon. She carried her New York spirit proudly throughout her life and remained devoted to her faith, family, and community.

Mary Jane was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Sheridan, who passed away in 2022. Married for 52 years, theirs was a partnership rooted in love, faith, and unwavering devotion to their family. She was also predeceased by her loving brother, Joseph McMahon, as well as many dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law whom she loved deeply.

A devoted mother to Vincent (Kimberly), Dennis (Lynda) and Maureen (Anthony), Mary Jane’s greatest joy was being “Grandma” to Jillian, Dennis, Alexandra, and Vincent. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

A devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Gregory’s Church in Garnerville, NY, Mary Jane was an active and faithful member of her parish community. She generously volunteered her time with David B. Roche Ladies Auxiliary, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.

Mary Jane had a deep love for traveling and embraced every opportunity to explore new places and create lasting memories with her family. She especially cherished her winters in Florida, enjoying the sunshine and the comfort of being surrounded by loved ones. She was also a true lover of animals, especially her beloved cats, who brought her great companionship and joy.

Known for her warmth, strength, quick wit, and cherished sayings like “ditty ditty” and “the saints be praised,” Mary Jane filled every room with laughter and love. Her faith guided her life, and her kindness touched all who knew her.

Mary Jane’s legacy lives on in the family she adored and the countless memories they will carry in their hearts forever. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
