Poem for Mason Chance Gory There’s a spirit all around you Circling the skies Waiting for a moment To float down and to try To meet you, his dear mom and dad, To hug you and say hi He traveled through again For a brief hello But decided not to stay here And that he really had to go We ask him why he leaves us But we will never know He gets closer every time Growing bigger with each chance To meet you here on earth To laugh, to sing and dance Instead he joined his spirit family His grandma, uncles, aunts. One day he will come down And decide that he should stay But he wasn’t ready yet So instead we pray For his spirit to appear to us Every single day He doesn’t want you to be sad He has a wandering heart And though it’s hard to say goodbye His little soul must part He lives forever in the wind And will appear in daddy’s art By, R.F.
