Yvonne Johnson

Yvonne B. Johnson, 73 , peacefully departed this life on March 21, 2026, at home, resting in the loving arms of her beloved husband. She was the devoted wife of Clarence E. Johnson, with whom she shared more than 50 beautiful years of marriage filled with love, commitment, and partnership.

Yvonne was born on August 17, 1952, in New York, New York, to Laura Colomba and Clemente Velazquez. She attended Saint Agatha Catholic School and later graduated from Nanuet High School. Over the years, she worked as a florist and briefly served as a therapy aide at Letchworth Village. However, her greatest calling was caring for children. She fulfilled her lifelong dream by babysitting for many families, becoming a trusted caregiver and a second mother to countless children whose lives she lovingly shaped.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Yvonne dedicated her life to her family. She took immense pride in those roles and often shared her heartfelt desire to “have the family she never had.” Family meant everything to her. She expressed her love through home-cooked meals, ensuring everyone left her table with a full belly and an equally full heart. Her home was always warm, tidy, and open — a welcoming place where everyone felt they belonged.

Yvonne truly had a heart of gold. She would give her last to someone in need and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives, and her impact will be felt for generations.

Predeceased by her beloved son, Jerick E. Johnson, Yvonne leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Clarence E. Johnson; her loving children, Neyisha Williams, Rico Johnson, Adrian Howard, Jessica Johnson, Raul Johnson, Jaleisa Johnson, and George Johnson; one brother, Victor Velasquez; one sister, Becky Streeper; her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on April 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 North Central Highway, Garnerville, NY 10923.

A Celebration of Life will follow from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at a location that will be disclosed by the family at a later date.
